Resolving an Erroneous INTERPOL Red Notice to Restore a Client’s Freedom to Travel

Resolving an Erroneous INTERPOL Red Notice to Restore a Client’s Freedom to Travel

Client Type and Situation:
A U.S. citizen was unexpectedly stopped at the airport due to an INTERPOL Diffusion in his name, preventing him from continuing his travel plans. This Diffusion postponed the client's important business abroad and automatically disqualified them from new visa applications, severely impacting his personal life, business affairs, and future plans.

Approach and Research:
Our team immediately began a detailed review of the client’s circumstances and relevant documentation to understand the nature of the Diffusion. We examined his travel history, legal status, and any potential links to the Notice in question. After concluding that the Diffusion had likely been issued in error, we initiated a strategy to resolve the matter promptly.

Steps Undertaken:
We drafted and submitted an application to INTERPOL on behalf of the client, requesting proof of the Diffusion Notice existence. Throughout the process, we maintained communication with INTERPOL to ensure the request was timely and properly reviewed.

Outcome:
Upon reviewing our submission, INTERPOL provided information that no Notice was issued against our client. With this obstacle resolved, our client was free to resume his travel plans and proceed with visa applications.
